What's a toy (besides electronics) that was worth it?

Main Post:

Many of purchases my kids play with for a 5 or ten minutes and then they are done. What toys have you purchased that entertained your kids for a while?

Edit: Thank you so much for the feedback!

Is there an ultra-trendy, must-have toy this year?

Main Post:

When I was a kid the “it toy” of the Christmas season would always get a local news segment about how every store was sold out of it. Now I’m not plugged into the parent loop and I can’t tell if google is giving me dated info, so I turn to you all - are there any super buzzy toys this year that are selling like crazy? I’m buying for a 7-year-old girl (not my child) and I want to get her whatever the “cool kids” at her school are getting (if it’s not something that’s obnoxiously loud or brain-melting)! (And I can’t ask her what she wants because of the type of gift exchange we’re doing!)

Top Comment: I’ve seen Jellycats on at least 3 wishlists so far. Cousins, nieces, friends

What’s the Best Toy/Item Your Kid Actually Uses? (Screen-Free & Toddler-Approved)

Main Post:

Hi, parents! I’m looking for recommendations for screen-free toys, products, or activities that encourage learning, can grow with a child over time, and doesn’t take up much space.

My toddler is 2.5 years old, and we’ve been loving the Yoto Mini—it’s been a daily hit in our home for over 3 months now and has really helped him advance his speech. It’s become a meaningful part of his daily routine.

I’d love to hear what has worked for your little ones! Thanks in advance for sharing!

Top Comment: We are all-in on magna-tiles. My 3 yo loves for me to build an elaborate castle, just to yell “tornado comin’!” And crash it down. Then he asks me to build it again. We make car repair shops, bridges, roads and he loves the combo of hotwheels cars and his magna-tiles together.

Everyone should know? What do you think are the best toys and plays?

Main Post:

Hey

I am currently searching for a 18 month old for toys, plays and DIY. I find it very hard to find suitable things - sometimes we do puzzles for the age 3+ on the other hand he doesn't get simple games for 18 months.

What are the things you love(d) most for toddlers?

Top Comment: Little people farm/barn, magnetic tiles, legos and mega blocks, crayola no mess markers, simple wooden peg Melissa & Doug puzzles, shape sorting toys, anything that makes music (toy piano, xylophone, maracas, etc). We’ve also started getting play kits from Early Nest and Lovery and they’ve both been really good.
